Boiling water Lab

During our lab we heated ice and sugar together at 350 degrees Celsius the strength of water intermolecular forces increases. When heated waters intermolecular forces, boiling points, and melting points all are relatively similar to each other.
When adding salt to an icy sidewalk the ice melts quickly although if you added sugar to it, the ice would evaporate more slowly because it changes the composition and loosens the intermolecular forces.
